A 28-year-old man from the municipality of Tynaarlo fled this morning after he overturned his car at Eext. This happened on the road Het Wit near the village.
The car seems to have flown out of the bend, how this could have happened is still being investigated by the police.
After the accident, the driver fled into the forest. “Thanks to alert bystanders, we were able to track down the man. He was immediately arrested,” a police spokesman said.
According to the police, the man had been drinking and was therefore arrested for driving under the influence and for leaving the scene of the accident. The man was injured in the accident and was taken to a hospital.
