A woman and her children were also in the car of the Enschedeer. A man and a woman were arrested in Enschede a short time later, the police reported.

The incident took place around 7:30 p.m. The 45-year-old man told the police afterwards that he was driving on the A1 in the direction of Enschede, together with a woman and her children, when a traffic conflict with another driver of a car arose.
Both drivers parked their cars on the hard shoulder of the highway. The Enschede citizen would have got out to talk to the other driver, who was still in the car. The 45-year-old man was then allegedly shot at from the car. After being shot at, the driver would have parked the car in the next parking lot after which the injured person could be treated. Police have not released any information about the identity of the injured person.
