The police received a report of a vehicle in the water in Veulen on Tuesday evening. But there it turned out that a car had run into a dry ditch.
The report was made around 10:45 PM. The incident happened on Drabbelsweg, a road in the countryside.
Pulling out of a ditch
What exactly happened is still a mystery. And especially where the driver left off, because officers arrived at an empty car. It is not clear why the driver fled. According to a correspondent, an attempt was still made to pull the car out of the ditch with a seat belt. When this probably failed, the correspondent opted for the harepath.
An ambulance, which had also arrived, was able to return without doing so.
