A car burned out at the carpool area near the A37 at the Dikkewijk OZ in New Amsterdam last night. The fire was discovered by a passer-by around two o’clock.
The fire brigade and police quickly arrived at the carpool area, but because the fire was spreading, the fire brigade was unable to save the car.
The police are investigating the cause of the fire. Arson cannot be ruled out. There have been more frequent fires at the carpool area in recent times, but it is unknown whether there is a connection between the fires.
