Two passengers were injured on Saturday evening after their car flew off the embankment on the connecting road from the A2 to the A58. The driver drove from the A2 near Best to the A58 towards Tilburg. In the bend, the car left the road, hit a light pole and flipped over.
At the bottom of the slope, the car came to a stop upside down in a boggy meadow. There were two occupants in the car, they were both injured and taken to hospital by ambulance.
A breath test showed that the driver had had too much to drink, the police said at the scene. A blood test should show how much too much he drank.
The connecting road from the A2 to the A58 near Best is temporarily closed. The light pole, among other things, needs to be repaired.
