Fortunately, the woman’s vehicle remained afloat after the plunge into the water. The driver, who was alone in the car, informed the emergency services herself. Then she climbed onto the roof of her car. An ambulance was the first on the scene and the staff helped the woman to dry land. The woman was taken to hospital for a check-up, but was unharmed.
The car had meanwhile been driven to lock 7. The fire service, together with the tow truck, removed the car from the water.
