A car ended up in the ditch on the Phileas Foggstraat in Emmen around 4.30 pm. The driver was freed from the car by firefighters.
According to bystanders, the victim was examined in an ambulance and is being taken to hospital. It is not yet clear how the accident happened.
The Phileas Foggstraat has been closed due to the accident.
