A car left the road at Zandvoort near Gieten tonight and ended up in a ditch. The driver was able to leave the vehicle without the help of others and climb out of the ditch. It is unclear why he sent the car into the water.
As far as is known, no other road users were involved in the accident, which happened around 9:30 p.m.
Ambulance personnel are present and assess the man’s condition. Part of the road is closed due to the incident.
