Police officers found an injured man at a house on Asserbrink in Emmen last night. The victim had recently become involved in a conflict. Afterwards he may have been hit deliberately.
The driver who allegedly deliberately drove into the man was later tracked down and arrested. It concerns a 52-year-old man from Emmen, a police spokesperson reports.
It is not known why he had a falling out with his 27-year-old fellow citizen and possibly deliberately drove into him. The police are interrogating the suspect to gain more clarity about this. His car has been seized.
The victim was approachable to officers last night. He was taken to hospital in an ambulance for further care. It is unknown what condition he is in.
