Car crashes into pole after road rage: two occupants in danger of life | Deurne

“Around 3 o’clock there was a report of a serious traffic accident on Bisschoppenhoflaan,” says police spokesperson Wouter Bruyns. “We suspect that there was serious road rage. A vehicle had crashed into a traffic light pole and at least one person was immediately trapped. Bystanders had already helped the victims out of the car. They received medical help from the ambulance staff and a mosquito. The two occupants, aged 27 and 31, were taken to hospital in life-threatening condition.”

A witness told police that the occupants of the crashed vehicle had been arguing with another car. The driver of the latter vehicle then deliberately drove into the victims’ car, resulting in the serious crash. The story is currently being further investigated.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the vehicle drove off without looking back after the crash and therefore committed a hit-and-run accident. “Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident and are tracing the other vehicle involved.”
