A car crashed at the railway on the Westfriesedijk in Schagen tonight. The driver escaped with minor injuries, but train traffic was disrupted considerably.
The report came in to the police around 9:45 p.m. “It is a one-sided accident,” a police spokesperson told NH. “The driver of the car is believed to have lost control of his vehicle and ended up on the track.”
Substantial delay
The crash causes considerable delays for train passengers between Schagen and Anna Paulowna, where no trains are currently running. The delay is more than an hour.
A spokesman for ProRail informs NH that there is damage to the transition, but it is not yet clear what the damage is exactly. Trains will not run for the time being until all damage has been repaired. ProRail recommends keeping an eye on the NS journey planner.
