A passenger car burned out completely on the A7 near Zuidbroek on Thursday evening. No one was injured.
For unknown reasons, the vehicle caught fire while driving. Fortunately, the occupants managed to leave the vehicle in time and park the car safely on the side of the A7.
Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control. A lot of smoke was released when the car was extinguished. Fortunately, this did not cross the highway, but rather into a farmland.
Police have currently closed one lane of the A7. This concerns the carriageway from Sappemeer in the direction of Zuidbroek. A recovery company is on site to tow the vehicle. The passenger car was completely burnt out by the fire. It is not clear what caused the fire.
