A motorist was injured in a single-vehicle accident on the A16 near Breda on Sunday. The car collided with the guardrail between the Galder junction and the Rijsbergen exit and ended up on its side. The victim was rushed to hospital by an ambulance.
In addition to the ambulance, an air ambulance was also called in for the accident, which took place around 08:35 a.m. The helicopter ultimately did not have to land near the A16. The crash barrier severely damaged the guardrail. It must therefore be replaced.
A recovery company was able to straighten the car and remove it. It is unknown how the driver hit the guardrail.
