It is an open secret that the left back would like to make a nice transfer and that AZ wants to collect a transfer fee in the event of the international departure. Just before the semi-finals of the KNVB cup match, it became clear that Ajax is interested in Wijndal.

The 22-year-old Wijndal made his debut in the first team of the Alkmaarders in 2017. He has been a permanent fixture since 2019/2020, after he had played Thomas Ouwejan from the base.
Frank de Boer let Wijndal make his debut for the Orange squad in 2020. He now has eleven international matches to his name.
