Cape Town hit by “unimaginable” stench caused by 19,000 live cattle on export ship

In Cape Town, residents complain about a terrible stench. On X, South Africans call the smell unbearable. The cause is said to be a ship with 19,000 cattle that is stationary off the coast of Cape Town and is destined for Iraq. Animal welfare groups say the stench comes from the build-up of feces and ammonia on the ship and is indicative of the conditions the animals live in.
