Canova explained to children through two exhibitions and a book

TOAntonio Canova, the genius artist of Neoclassicism in sculpture, told to boys and girls.

Art and landscape become colorful and engaging storytelling to excite young readers.

It’s the project Agata allegra Mucci and that superhero by Antonio Canova by the writer and illustrator Maria Pia Morelli for the bicentenary of the artist’s death.

It is an illustrated book (Linea edizioni) and two exhibitions which open simultaneously in Rome at the Chamber of Deputies (Sala del Cenacolo and Palazzo Valdina) and at Canova Tadolini Museum.

The book and the exhibitions aim to introduce the great Master to girls and boys, together with the exhibitions there are also drawing workshops, to bring them closer to the world of art, through a contemporary language, tailored to them, which allows them to understand and rework concepts and artistic forms.

The appointments of the Canova project

Friday 13 October, at Palazzo Carpegna, home of the Accademia di San Luca in Romethe illustrated book is presented Agata allegra Mucci and that superhero by Antonio Canova (Editions Line), bilingual in Italian and English.

The author Morelli presents it in Rome, among others, with Lucia Borgonzoni, undersecretary of culture, Federico Mollicone, president of the Culture Commission of the Chamber of Deputies and Francesca Lattanzi Benucci, custodian of the collection of works of the Canova Tadolini Museum.

Two exhibitions in Rome

In addition to the book, the original illustrated plates by Maria Pia Morelli become two exhibitions, curated by Georgiana Ionescu, with the organization of Civita Mostre e Musei and the collaboration of Repetto Gallery and Aurea Phoenix.

The inauguration on 17 October at the Chamber of Deputies in Rome (at 6pm Sala del Cenacolo and Palazzo Valdina) and others Canova Tadolini Museum in Romethe last atelier of the great Venetian master of sculpture, who lived in Rome for 43 years.

The Canova Workshop will also be inaugurated at the Canova Tadolini Museum, which restores the stone tanks that Canova used to make plaster to their ancient splendor.

The author is a Venetian entrepreneur, originally from Vicenza. For years you have been drawing illustrated books for children that revolve around the character of Agata Allegra. The cute little volumes also ended up at Buckingham Palace, appreciated by Kate Middleton.
