The Sex & The City by Candace Bushnell at the Theater
Candace, aka the real Carrie Bradshaw, will entertain the Italian public on a whirlwind tour of New York City, sharing her philosophy of life through stories of fashion, literature and sex. She will talk about her arrival in New York alone with 20 dollars in her pocket, about her career, and then touch on the secrets of the creation of Sex & the City: she will finally confess how she found herself single again at fifty. In June 2002 she married the New York City Ballet dancer, Charles Askegaard, and the divorce came nine years later.
The provocative story we will witness it is very reminiscent – for the mix of humor and truth – of his interventions in the column he wrote in the mid-nineties in the New York Observer and from which his popularity originated. In fact, our Carrie already talks in that column (which will have the same title as the film) about her crazy nights with friends in New York, among the bars of TriBeCa, summers in the Hamptons and trips to Aspen: those pieces signed by her will then be collected in a book, which in 1998 becomes the successful TV series of the same name (with Sarah Jessica Parker in the role of Carrie) and will air until 2004.
