Among the new, precious projects there is “Return to fly”, a cycle of 14 free meetings for support in the ‘post’ phase. The initiative, which won the tenth edition of the Gilead calls, is realized thanks to the contribution of Community Award Program.
The soul of the initiative, as well as the founder of the Association, is the Doctor Paola Martinonibreast surgeon, expert in first and second level diagnostics for the prevention of breast cancer and for years dedicated to the follow-up of cancer patients and their physical and psychological support.

Women with cancer and meetings for “Return to fly”

With the program of meetings “Return to fly”, Associazione Libellule Onlus renews its commitment to the challenge launched by Professor Umberto Veronesi: to erase cancer (also) from the minds of women.
The place of prevention and construction of the future

The new headquarters
The Libellule Onlus Association has opened the doors of the new headquarters in Via Filippino Lippi 19, at the corner of Viale Gran Sasso, Milan, a new center for the breast cancer prevention and treatment where it will be possible to perform breast ultrasound scans (the ultrasound was donated by the BNL foundation) and breast examinations, prevention and screening exams, with rapid checks and targeted and timely follow-ups. Are provided consultancy of various kindsincluding the psychological counselingconsult with medical specialists (dermatologists, urologists, oncologists) but also playful and recreational activities: yoga and relaxation techniques, music, cooking, writing, make-up and hair-styling, manual activities (DIY, sewing, embroidery, magic, drawing).

Once again, with the project “Return to fly”, the Association supports women with cancer by choosing a holistic medical approach to the disease. The courses of “Return to fly”, to overcome the tumor together
A solid project, well structured on scientific bases and on the decades-long experience of the experts who thought, wanted and implemented it with great tenacity. A cycle of 14 meetings lasting 3 hours each, dedicated to different themes, declined in every aspect of everyday life. The aim of the courses offered by the Onlus Libellule Association is to help cancer patients who have undergone breast or genital operation to overcome the ‘post’ phase. Take them by the hand for overcome the dramatic moments, involving, together, the emotional and physical aspects. Also to succeed in counteract the understandable moments of stress and worry which can help in states of malaise and depression.
“You are not alone, We do not leave you alone”
Free and open to all people who think they need it, they will address from time to time different themes. The speakers will be doctors, psychologists, specialists in natural therapies support and wellness professionals. The purpose of these monthly appointments will be that of “lighten ”the burden of the disease which weighs on the patient by offering adequate tools for improving the quality of life and facilitating, through the alliance that arises from confrontation, the the healing power of sharing to “fly again” together.

The Libellule Onlus Association
The Libellule Onlus Association was born in 2015 from an initiative of the Doctor Paola Martinoni and from the encouragement of Professor Umberto Veronesiwith the purpose of to sensitize women to prevention and periodic control. In the Association, thanks to the presence of highly qualified medical staff and cutting-edge diagnostic equipment, every woman will be taken by the hand even in the “after” – a delicate and often more tiring moment than the disease itself – so that fears can give way to a newfound positivity and confidence in the future.
«In Libellule we are 3 specialists to take care of the patients, we work in synergy for help them understand how to organize themselves, move, which tests to do before and after the chemo cycles. For now we are following about 600 women in the follow up then operate, then others with familiarity.
