Madrid (AP) – Canadian US Open finalist Leylah Fernandez beat German tennis player Andrea Petkovic in three sets and after more than two hours of play at the Madrid Open.
At the WTA tournament in Spain, the 34-year-old from Darmstadt lost 20th in the world rankings on the clay court with 1: 6, 6: 1, 4: 6. Petkovic celebrated her return to the WTA tour on Tuesday.
