Canada qualifies for the World Cup for the first time in 36 years | Football

The North American country is participating in the global finals for the second time after making its debut at the 1986 World Cup.

Canada came through the win on 28 points from 13 games and is assured of first place in the qualifying group of the Concacaf, the association for countries from North and Central America and the Caribbean.

The team already led 2-0 in Toronto after the first half. Cyle Larin and Tajon Buchanan scored. Deep in the second half, Junior Hoilett made it 3-0. Jamaican defender Adrian Mariappa brought the final score to 4-0 with an own goal.
