Canada will pay 1.3 billion Canadian dollars (960 million euros) in damages to the Siksika, an indigenous community in the west of the country. The Siksika receive the money as compensation for the theft of part of their land at the beginning of the twentieth century. It is one of the largest claims for territory theft ever.
