Canadian apparel retailer Canada Goose Holdings Inc. on Monday announced the appointment of Larry Li as President, China. From the company’s regional headquarters in Shanghai, Li will now manage “all business activities in the mainland Chinese market, including trade, marketing and finance,” the Toronto-based down jacket specialist said in a statement. The new China boss will report to Paul Cadman, who runs Canada Goose’s business throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
According to his new employer, Li has almost twenty years of experience in the Asian luxury goods industry. Most recently, he was Managing Director, China, of the Dunhill brand, which belongs to the Swiss Richemont Group. Before that, he held various management positions at French luxury goods giant LVMH with labels such as Louis Vuitton, Givenchy and Kenzo in Shanghai and Tokyo.
Canada Goose Chairman and CEO Dani Reiss has high hopes for the new addition: “Larry is a proven strategic leader with an entrepreneurial spirit and exceptional business development skills,” he said in a statement. “Running the China business from China has been critical to our success in the marketplace. With his luxury expertise in China, Larry is ideally suited to lead the local team, driving our business and capitalizing on the strategic opportunities we see ahead.”
