Can you guess where men’s sleeveless shirts sell the most? The difference is considerable compared to other provinces

Such clothes and accessories are bought by province. North Karelia, Kymenlaakso, South Ostrobothnia and Lapland stand out significantly from the others in a few preferences, according to the sales data of the K group and the S group.

We inquired about the sales data from the K-group and S-group communications, which would tell us what kind of clothes go on a shopping trip by province from Citymarket and Prisma.

Basic products such as t-shirts and socks are highlighted in Prisma’s sales data.

– Prisma’s best-selling item of clothing is the black ankle socks, of which no less than 2.5 million pairs are taken off the shelves per year, says Prisma’s sales manager Jonna Halme-Räsänen.

The most popular top for both men and women is the t-shirt. More than half a million of them are sold a year. Based on Prisma’s sales data, it can be said that men prefer o-necks over v-necks in t-shirts. However, one point clearly stands out.

– Men’s sleeveless shirts, on the other hand, stand out clearly in Southern Ostrobothnia, where they are sold in almost twice as much as the rest of Finland on average.

In almost the entire country, men prefer boxers in their underwear. These are usually bought in packs of three, and favorite colors are black, gray and blue.

– Kymenlaakso and North Karelia are a clear exception, where compared to the rest of Finland, relatively more brief-style underwear are sold.

Sportswear is bought at Citymarket

Emma Lammela K-group’s communications sent us a list of regional highlights by province from the previous 12 months. From this data, it can be seen that a lot of sportswear is purchased from Citymarket. The brand of sportswear is especially important in Lapland.

Compared to other provinces, more men’s fashion is bought in Varsinais-Suomei, Kymenlaakso and Kanta-Hämee.

In Päijät-Hämee, on the other hand, women’s clothes are popular. Long underwear are purchased more than other provinces in, for example, Lapland, North Karelia and North Ostrobothnia.

Kainuu, Uusimaa and Etelä-Ostrobothnia appear prominently in Kesko’s data for purchases of children’s clothing.
