For FC Volendam it can happen tonight: promotion to the Eredivisie. In a victory in Alkmaar at Young AZ, the return is a fact. At the last promotion, keeper Kayne van Oevelen was still cheering on the dike and trainer Rick Kruys worked at FC Utrecht. Van Oevelen “I am very happy that we are on Matchpoint.”
The 21-year-old Van Oevelen played for Jong FC Volendam at the time. This season he turned out to be the reliable first goalkeeper of the leader in the first division. He is looking forward to tonight’s game. “It is always nice to play in a beautiful stadium. That gives us an extra boost. Sure it is a different game than others, but we will not comment on him differently.”
Also Kruys, who came across from VVV-Venlo last summer, remains sober the moment of promotion is so close. “I think Young AZ is a difficult team on Monday. They are talented guys who recently showed what they can do at ADO. It’s up to us to show what we can do.”

At FC Volendam there is probably one change in the team compared to the 4-0 home game against Jong PSV. Alex Plat played at the final training with in the large game in the basic formation in the place of Milan de Haan who was assigned to the reserves.
