Can Macron?

The hope is that Macron wins in the second round of the presidential elections. Otherwise, France and all of Europe would embark on a suicidal reverse gear. And it’s not easy. Jerome Jaffre, the great specialist of the French elections, writes: «The vote for the populist candidates of the right and of the left rises to 56%, which has never been seen in French history. That vote was 20% in 2007 (Sakorzy’s election), 31% in 2012 (Hollande’s election), and 42.5% in 2017 (Macron’s election). 56% of now dismantles the entire political system and is the son of the ‘no’ to the European Constitution in the 2005 referendum and little brother of the recent yellow vests.
