From the French outfitter Campérêve, a well-adapted Peugeot Boxer that can accommodate the classic family of four, without sacrificing comfort. It costs 66,700 euros

You don’t need enormous volumes to travel in a camper for four, but the space must be used perfectly. This is what Campérêve did in creating the Magellan 540 Air, where the term indicates precisely the concept of being able to travel on routes worthy of the great Portuguese navigator under the sky… Seriously, the plus of the vehicle is the folding roof (designed from Westphalia) which allows, thanks to its generous dimensions of 200 x 130 cm, to offer accommodation for two adults. Based on the Peugeot Boxer chassis and powered as standard by a 140 HP 2.2 diesel engine, the Magellan 540 Air has particularly compact dimensions that reassure those approaching the world of leisure vehicles for the first time: 5.41 m long, 2.05 m wide and 2.72 m tall overall, with a wheelbase of 3.45 m, the “van” optimizes every square centimeter of its volume.

In the living area of the van there is a bench facing the road for two (with seat adjustable in depth), to which the tilting seats of the cab, adjustable in height, can be added. By turning them in the opposite direction, four people, when stationary, can have their meals around the extendable table with a revolving extension. Equipped with numerous storage compartments, in particular several wall units, the 540 Air does not suffer from a lack of natural light, thanks to the panoramic Skyview roof in curved glass, positioned above the windshield.

The tilting wall allows a little privacy by separating the removable cassette toilets and the shower compartment. Last but not least, there is a permanent rear bed (with slatted aluminum base) which allows two additional adults to sleep comfortably given its dimensions: 195 x 132 x 108 cm. The check amount is not light: the Campérêve Magellan 540 Air is sold from 66,700 euros. But it is a cost that is repaid by the great habitability and care for the environment naturalwhich gives a feeling of general well-being.
