On the A12 between Arnhem and Utrecht, farmers drive in both directions around Veenendaal, causing significant delays, an ANWB spokesperson said.
According to the ANWB, at the peak – around 5.15 pm – there was about 4 kilometers of traffic jam on the A12, good for almost an hour’s delay. According to road manager Rijkswaterstaat, there was more than 10 kilometers of traffic jams in the other direction, good for more than forty minutes extra travel time.
The A28 from Amersfoort to Zwolle is close to the Zwolle-Zuid exit. There it comes to a complete standstill and the number of kilometers of traffic jams quickly increases, according to the ANWB spokesperson. He expects that this farmers’ action will also create a traffic jam on the A50, since people who want to use the A28 will have to drive on and it will become busier there.
The police took two tractors off the A30 highway on Monday afternoon. The farmers drove their vehicles from Barneveld in the direction of Lunteren. One of them did not have his driver’s license with him.
Rijkswaterstaat previously reported actions by farmers on the A2 motorways at the Ekkersweijer junction between Eindhoven and Den Bosch and the A67 towards Venlo.
