Camp Macron leads in French parliamentary elections, but majority uncertain

Ensemble, the alliance of parties that support President Emmanuel Macron, has the prospect of a majority in the National Assembly on the basis of predictions after the first round of the parliamentary elections. According to forecasts, the president’s center camp stands at 25.2 to 25.6 percent, about as much as Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s Left Alliance (NUPES) at 25.2 to 26.1 percent. However, the forecasts predict a clear majority for Macron’s camp in the distribution of seats after the second round of elections.
