Camilla Richardsson has run a new Finnish record of 10,000 meters. The time run in London’s Highgate was 31.12.80.
This is a rare achievement. Former Annemari Kiekaran (née Sandell) record of 31:40,42 was created almost 27 years ago in the final race of the Atlanta Olympics.
Richardsson finished eighth in the competition. Records were broken on the Highgate course, as no fewer than 12 of the first 20 runners achieved personal best times. The competition was won by the United States Wine Kelati with a time of 31:04.22.
Saturday was successful for Finnish long-distance runners. Top Raitanen ran his own personal best in the 1,500 meters in his side event in Karlsruhe, Germany.
