Sometimes it’s short, but we like to have a cup of tea together to discuss the day,” says the duchess. “It’s nice to have a chat then. Although I think it’s best to sit together in the same room and read a book. We don’t have to say anything. We just sit together.”
Camilla about her grandchildren
Her own grandchildren, with whom she regularly sends messages back and forth via Whatsapp, offer a nice distraction. “It is very nice to receive such a message. We learn from the young people and they learn from us. That is how it has always been.” She also likes to spoil her grandchildren, as befits a real grandmother. “That’s the nice thing about being a grandma, that you can give them things their parents don’t allow them to have,” Camilla laughs.
