The Duchess of Cornwall also made a ‘substantial, private contribution’ to the newspaper’s fundraising campaign The Mail. Thanks in part to her contribution, more than 2.5 million pounds (converted slightly more than 3 million euros) was raised within four days for victims of the war in Ukraine.

Meeting with Inna Prystaiko

At the church, Camilla spoke to Inna Prystaiko, the husband of the Ukrainian ambassador to the United Kingdom, among others, to show her support. Photos show how the emotional women hug each other closely. “We pray for you,” Camilla said to Inna.

It was important for the Duchess of Cornwall to show her face. “No one can be unmoved by the horrific scenes of Ukrainians fleeing their homes and the Duchess wanted to help in any way they could,” her spokesperson said.

Charles also expresses his support

Camilla was joined at the church by Prince Charles, who in turn paid tribute to the Ukrainian people’s “extraordinary courage and fortitude” in the face of “truly terrible aggression”. Charles, like Camilla, made a generous donation for the victims in Ukraine. He supports two charities of which he is the patron saint, namely the British Red Cross and World Jewish Relief.
