The Swiss clothing group Calida Holding AG has expanded its brand portfolio. On Friday, the company announced the takeover of the Cologne-based lingerie label Erlich Textil. “With the acquisition of the young brand, the Calida Group is expanding its strong market position in the underwear sector as planned,” says a statement. At the same time, the group of companies “is strengthening its pioneering role in the growth areas of sustainability and e-commerce with the acquisition of the online retailer”. According to the company, the group acquired a 90 percent stake in Vorfreude GmbH, the parent company of Erlich Textil.
The Erlich Textil brand, founded in 2016, stands for “fairness, sustainability and a positive working environment” and has been characterized “in recent years by continuous growth and a scalable digital infrastructure,” said the Calida Group. In the past financial year, the newcomer achieved sales of seven million euros.
The acquisition was part of the current growth plans that the group presented last November. “With the acquisition of Erlich Textil, a digital pure player with a focus on a young target group, we are implementing the Accelerate 2026 strategy announced on Capital Markets Day in a targeted manner.” , explained the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Hans-Kristian Hoejsgaard, in a statement. “We are particularly pleased that Erlich Textil and the Calida Group also share the same values and standards in terms of sustainability and quality,” says Hoejsgaard.
