The Swiss clothing group Calida Holding AG has separated from its outdoor division Millet Mountain Group. On Thursday, the company announced that the sale of the segment to Jean-Pierre Millet and the investment company Inspiring Sport Capital, which had already been agreed in February, had been successfully completed.
With the transaction, the Calida Group has reached “another important milestone” in the implementation of its current growth strategy, according to a statement. This provides for the future focus on the underwear segment with the brands Calida, Aubade and Erlich Textil as well as the outdoor furniture brand Lafuma Mobilier. In this context, the separation from the Millet Mountain Group with the clothing brands Millet and Lafuma Outdoor was already announced last summer.
The group now wants to further strengthen its core business: “In addition to the organic growth of the four brands, the Calida Group also wants to accelerate business development through targeted acquisitions,” the company said on Thursday. The proceeds from the sale of the Millet Mountain Group are to be used “particularly for acquisitions in the underwear and lingerie segment”.
