Cabinet wants to work on hearing damage and tinnitus, possibly softer music in clubs

The government wants to take action to reduce hearing damage among young people. Among other things, consideration is being given to reducing the number of decibels at music events and expanding hearing tests in primary schools. State Secretary Maarten van Ooijen of Public Health wants to wait for the Health Council’s advice on this, but a large part of the House of Representatives does not want to wait until winter and believes immediate intervention is necessary.
