Cabinet wants homes for 20,000 status holders quickly
Municipalities must arrange housing for 20,000 status holders this year. That is the core of a package of measures that the government is talking about to tackle the asylum crisis. For the first half of next year, this concerns homes for 20,000 to 24,000 people with residency status. Insiders report this in response to reports from multiple media.
The Council of Ministers must hit the plans on Friday, which were discussed with the Security Council on Thursday, among other things.
If recognized refugees move on to regular homes, more space will become available in asylum seekers’ centres.
