The cabinet will apologize for the Dutch slavery past in December, insiders confirm after a report from RTL Nieuws. The expectation is that the apologies will be offered in December when the cabinet responds to the report of the Dialogue Group Slavery History Advisory Board. One of the recommendations from this is also to apologize.
A further 200 million euros will be made available for an awareness fund. For example, this is used to pay for teaching packages for schools. There will also be 27 million euros for a slavery museum.
