Nine municipalities will receive money from the government to renovate shopping streets and thus attract customers to physical shopping areas again. The outgoing cabinet is allocating a total of 26 million euros for things such as ‘facade renovation, better walking routes and more public seating areas’ to keep villages and cities ‘lively’.
