CAAAP Duathlon Kortrijk gets the same winner as last year
At this 18th edition of the CAAAP Duathlon Triathlon in Kortrijk, it is especially looking forward to the West Flemish brothers Thibaut and Nicolas de Smet. They became 1st and 3rd here last year, with two-time winner Guust de Smul between them.
In the first round, a compact group runs together, with Thibaut De Smet in the lead. In the second running round, De Smet takes ex-winner Guust De Smul in his wake. Nicolas de Smet is then a bit further in a chasing group. After 6.6 km of walking, 44 km of cycling follows. In it, the eldest of the De Smet brothers distances himself from his opponents. After a lap of cycling, his bonus is already a good minute. The other De Smet is now fighting for 3rd place with Vic Vandendaele. At the front, Thibaut maintains his tight cycling pace. With a two minute lead he starts his last 2.7 km run and then victory is in, Thibaut De Smet wins the Duathlon in Kortrijk for the second year in a row.
