Bystanders and first responders save man’s life after train collision

A man was seriously injured after a collision with a train at Oudenbosch station. According to the police, the victim wanted to cross the track with another person while a train was approaching.

An air ambulance landed to assist and the victim was rushed to hospital under the supervision of the trauma doctor. At around 9.45 pm, the police reported via Twitter that the ‘super-fast’ intervention of emergency services and bystanders most likely saved the man’s life. Witnesses to the accident were taken care of at the nearby town hall.

Due to the accident, no trains ran between Roosendaal and Lage Zwaluwe until 23.30.
