Borussia Dortmund is at risk of losing one of its top talents. But BVB will probably receive a decent transfer fee for the defensive jewel.
As “Sport Bild” and “Sky” both report, Hendry Blank is about to move to RB Salzburg. The deal is scheduled to go through on Thursday.
Accordingly, the Austrians are prepared to pay a whopping seven million euros, including bonuses, for the 19-year-old central defender.
BVB actually wanted to extend Bank’s contract, which is valid until 2025. But now the talent is leaving the Revierklub.
Blank moved from Bayer Leverkusen’s youth team to Borussia Dortmund in 2019. The Germany U20 international made a steep rise with the black and yellow team.
Blank is now part of the reserve team in the 3rd league. The defender was even allowed to make his Bundesliga debut in the smooth 4-0 away win at 1. FC Köln.
In the second half he came on as a substitute for Niklas Süle, who was complaining of back problems. Since defense chief Mats Hummels and BVB captain Emre Can were also out, the time had come for Blank.
Special praise for Hendry Blank from BVB coach Edin Terzic
Much to the delight of his head coach Edin Terzic. “It’s a wonderful story with Hendry Blank, who was able to make his Bundesliga debut,” said the 41-year-old after the game. Terzic praised: “Hendry is with us for two reasons: because he is good and because he deserves it. He did exceptionally well.”
Blank himself was happy about your debut. “Now the moment is here that I’ve been working towards for so long. I did solidly and I’m happy for the first game,” said the youngster. He gained confidence after the first “two passes” and tried “not to let his nervousness show.”
But instead of BVB, things will now continue in Salzburg.
