And not just once, but several times in a row.
The clearly recognizable beer mug thrower will probably only know exclusively what he was thinking. After Borussia Dortmund’s 2-2 draw with Munich, Bayern defender Matthijs de Ligt answered questions from a TV station.
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old was attacked several times with a beer mug. After the thrower had missed his supposed victim the first time, he had a new plastic cup handed to him two more times in order to aim at the player of the German record champions again. Fortunately, De Ligt was not hit on shots two and three either.
As can be clearly heard on the video recording, Dortmund fans standing next to them defended themselves against the man’s cup throws and asked him: “Let it be!”
BVB has already threatened high fines
It was not yet known on Monday evening whether investigations would subsequently be launched against the man. In the social media like Facebook and Twitter, the opinion in the comments was clear: the gross misconduct of the stadium-goer should not go unpunished. In several posts, the Dortmund police were marked with a request to start the investigation and clarify the incident.
Sad irony: BVB aggressively advertises to its own supporters with posters to refrain from throwing cups in any case: “Beer has to flow, not fly!” is the motto of BVB. Cup throwing should therefore be punished with a fine of at least 1,000 euros.
