Borussia Dortmund could still find a solution for the sales candidate Thorgan Hazard after the end of the changeover phase in the major European leagues. The 30-year-old forward has been targeted by RSC Anderlecht. But there is not much time, because the transfer window in Belgium also closes on Wednesday – but an agreement is in sight.

According to consistent media reports from Belgium, Hazard has finally agreed on a three-year contract with Anderlecht, including an option for a further season, after there was still a discrepancy in terms of salary. The RSC is said to have refilled. There is also a basic agreement with BVB on a fee of 4 million euros. The medical check should be scheduled for late Wednesday afternoon.

Hazard, who was used for six minutes on the first matchday of the new season and was no longer included, is under contract in Dortmund until next year. Most recently, he spent the second half of the season on loan at PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands. With a sale, BVB would on the one hand save salary – rumored 5 million euros per year – and on the other hand seize the last chance for a significant transfer fee.
In 2019, Hazard had cost EUR 25.5 million when he switched from Borussia Mönchengladbach to BVB – today he is eleventh in the ranking of the most expensive purchases, just behind Henrikh Mkhitaryan. If the market value of the attacker was estimated at EUR 38 million at the time, it is currently EUR 7 million.
For the first time in his professional career, the 47-time national player could move permanently to his home country of Belgium, where he was on loan at SV Zulte Waregem from 2012 to 2014. There he played – play-offs included – 73 times in the Jupiler Pro League and contributed 18 goals and 26 assists.
