The chances of defender Nico Schlotterbeck, who was injured after the international trip, and offensive man Jamie Bynoe-Gittens are still open. “For both of us, we’ll take a look again today in the final training session to see who’s coming to Munich,” said Terzic on Friday, one day before the game at the top of the table at second place (Saturday 6.30 p.m. / Sky). Dortmund have to do without Giovanni Reyna and Thomas Meunier. Reyna has a cold, Meunier has back problems.
BVB coach Terzic: Bayern’s move to Tuchel complicates the preparation
Terzic also explained that his team’s preparation for the top game has become more complicated due to the change of coach at the German record champions. “Of course that changes a bit in the preparation of opponents,” said the 40-year-old before the duel between the two most valuable teams in the league. “Due to the change of coach, you don’t know exactly to what extent Thomas Tuchel will build on what Julian Nagelsmann has played in the past few weeks, or whether he’s bringing in a completely new idea.”

Bayern parted ways with Nagelsmann a week ago and signed Tuchel as his successor. Before the eagerly awaited classic, FCB is one point behind BVB in second place in the table. “What hasn’t changed is that they still have a top coach on the bench and a top team on the pitch,” said Terzic.
Despite the difficult preparation, the Dortmund coach is optimistic about the game with his team, who were unbeaten in the second half of the season. “What makes me optimistic is the energy we’ve built up over the past few weeks and months. This energy, being there for each other and playing for each other: we want to take that with us.” Looking back at the past few years, in which Dortmund had nothing to gain in Munich, Terzic said: “We can set an example for ourselves and to the competition. We also want to show that we are different than we have been in recent years.” BVB’s last win to date in the Bundesliga in Munich was nine years ago.
