BVB sends a message to Gabriel Clemens

Gabriel Clemens missed the final of the 2023 Darts World Cup. The enthusiasm in the home of the “German Giant” is still unbroken. Even BVB sent Clemens a message after the semi-final defeat against Michael Smith.

Late on Monday evening, Gabriel Clemens’ dream of the World Cup was over: “Bullyboy” Michael Smith was one size too big for the “German Giant” in the semifinals. 2:6 from Clemens’ point of view was the final clear result.

The final of the tournament in the legendary London Ally Pally will take place on Tuesday without German participation.

Darts World Cup: Thomas Müller from FC Bayern is also a fan

Nevertheless, Clemens made history in the British capital. Never before has a German player made it past the round of 16 at a darts world championship. The 34-year-old Saarlander may even be able to participate in the lucrative Premier League – which would also be a novelty from a German perspective.

At home, the hype about Clemens is unbroken in view of his heroic darts at the World Cup, despite the defeat against Smith.

Numerous celebrities from sports and TV identified themselves as “Gaga” fans – including Thomas Müller from FC Bayern, who expressed his enthusiasm several times on social networks during the course of the tournament.

BVB with Twitter message for Gabriel Clemens

Borussia Dortmund also took the opportunity to send Clemens a tribute via Twitter after the thrilling semi-final match.

“Congratulations on your strong and historic performance at the Darts World Cup, Gabriel ‘Gaga’ Clemens! A German in the semi-finals of the Darts World Cup – that’s never happened before. And then in the black and yellow jersey …” wrote BVB.

Clemens’ football heart will probably not be able to conquer Borussia anymore. Germany’s new darts superstar is a fan of the third division club 1. FC Saarbrücken.
