BVB? Real Madrid? Patrik Schick reacts to rumors of change

Patrik Schick, who recently also traded again and again at Borussia Dortmund, says he is not concerned with a possible departure from Bayer Leverkusen.

“Of course it is nice to read when you are associated with the big clubs. But I am really, very happy in Leverkusen and want to go to the Champions League with Bayer 04,” said the alleged BVB flirt in an interview with ” Bild am Sonntag “specifically addressed the also rumored interest of Real Madrid and Manchester City.

For him it is “currently not at all an issue to think of another club. Everyone knows my contract situation. And I would never cause a club problems to push through a move,” said Schick, who is tied to Bayer until 2025 without an exit clause.

With 16 goals, Schick had risen to become the second best Bundesliga scorer in the first half of the season behind Robert Lewandowski (19) from FC Bayern. The 25-year-old Czech even left BVB-Knipser Erling Haaland (13) behind.

FC Bayern: Robert Lewandowski “clearly” the best striker in the world

“It’s a special situation. It changes expectations for the second half of the season. But that doesn’t put me under any additional pressure. I just want to help my team with goals to reach the Champions League,” commented the Leverkusen player on the three-way battle for the top scorer .

Lewandowski is currently “clearly” the best striker in the world, praised Schick. “Not only because of his goals, but also because of the way he works for his team. He has not only shown these achievements for one or two years, but consistently for seven or eight years.”

According to Schick, he can still learn a lot from Poles who are eight years older than him. “Every time I see him I wonder how you can score so many goals. I haven’t found the final answer yet.”
