Borussia Dortmund wants to extend the contract with U17 world champion Paris Brunner. According to BVB youth director Lars Ricken, the storm jewel has a professional contract.
“We are of course no longer talking about a development agreement at Paris. We have a clear plan for him. We have discussed it with him and his family. It is clear that with his quality he will be an issue for the professional sector,” said the champion. League winner from 1997 the “Ruhr Nachrichten”.
Brunner’s current working paper at BVB is dated until 2025. The 17-year-old is currently said to be earning around 8,500 euros a month and is therefore not even one of the top earners in the Dortmund U19.
According to “Sport Bild”, Brunner will receive a sevenfold increase in his current salary in the event of an extension. He could also collect a bonus of 500,000 euros.
FC Barcelona and Ajax Amsterdam, among others, are also said to have put out feelers to Brunner.
No wonder, as the youngster was one of the most eye-catching players in coach Christian Wück’s team at the German World Cup coup in Indonesia and took home the prize as the best player of the tournament.

A few weeks before the finals, however, Brunner’s future at BVB looked anything but rosy. Those responsible suspended the top talent because of an unspecified disciplinary offense.
“There was an incident, then Paris didn’t play for three games. But we worked through it well with a lot of discussions with him and his parents. That was and is the end of it for us,” Ricken looked back. “It was important to us to get it out of the way before the World Cup.
