BVB reported
The Borussia Dortmund coaching team is complete for the coming season. As BVB announced on Tuesday, Peter Hermann and Sebastian Geppert will complement head coach Edin Terzic’s staff as assistants. “In Peter Herrmann and Sebastian Geppert, we were able to win the declared ideal candidates for a collaboration,” says a club statement.
When Terzic was appointed as the new coach and successor to Marco Rose, there was talk that at least Hermann would come to Dortmund as an assistant coach. The 70-year-old last worked for FC Schalke 04, where he celebrated winning the second division championship and promotion alongside interim coach Mike Büskens. In addition, his involvement with the German Football Association (DFB), where he has been assistant coach of the U20 national team since last summer, continued. With his move to BVB, he is now leaving the DFB after around three years. His contract would have originally been valid until 2023.
In the meantime, Terzic has brought an old companion into the team in Geppert. The 38-year-old was already part of Terzic’s staff in the 2020/21 season, when he temporarily led BVB to victory in the Champions League at the end of the season. After being promoted to the professional team, Geppert returned to the Dortmund junior division, where he was in charge of the U17s this season.
