BVB interest in Uzun leaves Nuremberg cold

At just 18 years old, Can Yilmaz Uzun from 1. FC Nürnberg is the high flyer of the second division season so far. In 17 competitive games, the Turkish youth international scored nine goals and prepared three goals across all competitions. A yield that, unsurprisingly, is said to have brought the more prominent competition onto the scene. However, the club has now spoken its word of power.

The Spanish newspaper “Relevo” has already mentioned Can Yilmaz Uzun at FC Bayern and Borussia Dortmund. The “Bild”, in turn, wanted to know that there is little interest in Munich, but that BVB sees the youngster as nothing less than a potential successor to club icon Marco Reus.

“Sky”, on the other hand, wanted to know in December that Eintracht Frankfurt was stepping on the accelerator in poker for the offensive player. A deal in the summer of 2024 should therefore be the goal of the Hessians.

There is no shortage of rumors and supposed interested parties, but at 1. FC Nürnberg they remain very calm.

Interest from FC Bayern, BVB and Co.? 1. FC Nuremberg “deeply relaxed”

“We are in constant communication with him and his advisor and are deeply relaxed,” quotes “kicker” FCN sports director Olaf Rebbe. The Rebbe also categorically ruled out one scenario. According to the Rebbe, the fact that Uzun will be sold in the winter and immediately loaned back to Nuremberg by summer is simply “out of the question”.

This model was recently used with Nathaniel Brown: Nuremberg sold the full-back to Eintracht Frankfurt for three million euros, filling the holes in their coffers, and still have the 20-year-old in their own ranks as a loan player in the second half of the season.

Not least because the financial situation has now improved thanks to Brown, Uzun will not be aiming for a quick fix. No wonder, given the multitude of speculations, Uzun’s strong performances and a contract until the summer of 2026, the club is likely to rely on some kind of bidding for Uzun in the summer.
