BVB goalkeeper Marwin Hitz signs with a new club

BVB’s squad restructuring continues. In addition to a few newcomers, there are also a few players who are leaving Dortmund. Including the previous number two.

Borussia Dortmund’s previous goalkeeper Marwin Hitz is returning to his native Switzerland. The 34-year-old moves to FC Basel. As the club announced on Friday, former national player Hitz received a contract until June 2025.

In the Bundesliga, Hitz played for VfL Wolfsburg, FC Augsburg and BVB. Overall, he was used 181 times in the first division.

At the season finale last weekend, he announced his departure from Dortmund after four years. Hitz has mostly been number two at Borussia in recent years. His successor is to be Alexander Meyer from SSV Jahn Regensburg.
