At Borussia Dortmund (2017 to 2021), one of the most promising footballers in the European continent, switched to Manchester United for around 85 million euros, which does not even meet expectations in the beginning, when returning to BVB (January to summer 2024) again Flowered and landed on a loan at Chelsea FC: This is how Jadon Sancho’s career path can break down. One up and down that now accompanies the offensive player in London.
Jadon Sancho got off to a good start in his rental engagement for FC Chelsea: five templates and two goals were booked in eleven games 2024/25 to mid-December, and since then an assist has been followed in eleven competitive games. A fact that has now caused an icon of Chelsea to a verbal attack.
“We thought: ‘Damn again, now we’ll get this Jadon Sancho from Dortmund’,” says Jon Obi Mikel in the podcast “The Obi One” after Sancho’s start at FC Chelsea.
The current form of the Englishman, however, causes less enthusiasm among the former midfielder: “He is gone. He is gone again. I don’t know what happened to Jadon. He has disappeared from the scene.”
Successes at BVB do not play a role
Sancho no longer demands the ball, no longer leave the opponents and no longer create a chance, according to the Nigerian, who was on the lawn over 370 times for the blues.
“I don’t know what happened to him. But Jadon Sancho has to wake up again,” demands Miikel.
In his assessment, the 37-year-old also misses a verbal swipe to the German Bundesliga. While the Premier League is the strongest league in the world, there is only FC Bayern and Bayer Leverkusen, Sancho’s success at BVB level.
